The rumors are unfortunately true. We are closing our doors on September 6th, 2020.
Why?
Earlier this year, Unincorporated Alameda County (where our wholesale and retail businesses reside) banned all flavored vapor products. Next, they went back and amended the ban to include all "Electronic Smoking Devices" and any components (ALL e-liquids, coils, and devices). This ban was set to take effect in July, but was extended until September 6th due to COVID.
In 2018, due to a ban in our previous city (San Leandro, CA), we moved to our new location (Castro Valley, CA). And now, with a new full vapor-ban in our area, we are unable to sell any vapor-related products after September 5th. To continue business, we would have to move from our current location. In our area, there are very few cities/counties left that allow the sale of flavored vapor products. A new prohibition goes into effect here in Castro Valley, CA starting September 6th. With a pending full state ban (California), and the upcoming FDA date that requires all vapor product manufacturers to go through a costly registration process (hundreds of thousands of dollars, the PMTA or "Premarket Tobacco Application"), there is no feasible way that we can continue business. Thank you to everyone who supported us over the years (Bodyrock since 2013 and Valley Vape Club since 2018).
We fought for you, and we tried our hardest. We've run out of options...
